Electrophysiology Physician
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Electrophysiology Physician and play a vital role in delivering specialized cardiac care to adult patients. With a focus on complex arrhythmia management and ablation procedures, you'll be at the forefront of innovative cardiac treatments, working with state-of-the-art technology in a well-equipped hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced electrophysiology procedures, including heart rhythm disturbance management and ablations, demonstrating proficiency with Abbott Ensite-X Mapping System.
- Conduct TEEs and moderate sedation independently, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Support hospital consults and EP cases, with a patient volume of approximately 20-22 clinic patients daily and 4-6 EP procedures per day.
- Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and clinical coordination.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain up-to-date certifications and licensure.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Cardiology with a specialization in Electrophysiology.
- Valid Arizona medical license or the ability to obtain one.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in performing cardiac electrophysiology procedures, with documented case logs showing at least 100 EP cases in the last 2 years, emphasizing ablations.
- Proficiency with Abbott Ensite-X Mapping System.
- ACLS certification.
- Ability to perform moderate sedation independently.
- Excellent clinical judgment and patient management skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with other electrophysiology mapping technologies.
- Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
- Prior experience working in hospital or outpatient clinic settings.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Residency and fellowship training in cardiology with subspecialty training in electrophysiology.
- At least 1 year of recent EP procedural experience, including ablations and device implantations.
Other Requirements:
- AZ medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- AZ DEA registration.
- Availability for scheduled shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with optional OT at 1.5x rate; shifts are scheduled on various dates throughout the year.
- Willingness to support hospital consults and perform procedures independently.
