Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MD or compact state license, ACLS/BLS certifications, and recent orthopedic and surgical experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Care for patients after orthopedic, colorectal, vascular, and bariatric surgeries
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Floating required within the nurse’s skillset
- Locals within 60 miles are eligible at a different pay rate
- Typical patient population includes those recovering from complex surgeries
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
- Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided prior to assignment start
- Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Experience in large orthopedic programs, total joints, colorectal, vascular, and bariatric surgery required
- First-time travelers are accepted
