A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides anesthesia care for a variety of surgical, obstetric, and pediatric cases in an inpatient setting under medical supervision. Responsibilities include administering anesthesia, performing epidural and spinal placements, managing airway emergencies, and completing documentation via EPIC EMR. The role involves a home call rotation and weekend coverage with support from anesthesiologists in a 203-bed hospital with multiple operating rooms.

- SCHEDULE:
- Length of shifts: 8-10hrs varies - 1-10hr position
- On call requirements:
- Day off after first call: No guaranteed
- Frequency: 1 in 11 - full-time
- Call is remote (home)
- Weekends: 9-10/year - Full-time
- Orientation: On-site at 6 AM on first day (includes EPIC/Omnicell access, facility tour, scrubs)
- EPIC training required prior to first shift
- WORKSITE SETTING: Inpatient
- SCOPE OF WORK:
- Provide anesthesia care under medical supervision (never medically directed)
- Cases include: Ortho, General Surgery, Dental, ENT, GYN, Urology, some Vascular, Endoscopy, Labor & Delivery (including C-sections), occasional pediatric cases
- OB: Must be proficient in epidural and spinal placement
- Peds: Comfortable with healthy pediatric cases (T&As, BMTs, frenectomies) and occasional infant cases
- Assist with emergent neonatal/pediatric airway support when called offsite
- LICENSURES CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Active WV license Active DEA w/WV address Board Certified NBCRNA ACLS, BLS, PALS
- EMR: EPIC
CRNA will work in a collaborative anesthesia care team model under medical supervision. Responsibilities include a wide range of surgical cases, OB anesthesia, and occasional pediatric cases. Must be adaptable and comfortable with emergent airway support.

- Case Types: Ortho, General, Dental, ENT, GYN, URO some Vascular, Endo, Labor, C-Section
- ENT - PEDS: Roughly 20/mo
SCHEDULE & COVERAGE:
- 8 10 hour shifts
- Home call rotation (1 in 11)
- Weekend coverage: 9 10 weekends/year
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer anesthesia for surgical and obstetric procedures
- Perform epidural and spinal placements
- Manage airway emergencies as needed
- Provide post-anesthesia care
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Complete EPIC documentation
- Participate in orientation and compliance processes
VOLUME & SUPPORT:
- Diverse case mix including OB and pediatrics
- Support from anesthesiologists (medical supervision)
- Chief CRNA facilitates onboarding
