The facility is part of a healthcare system that includes two hospitals (86 beds at the main facility and 154 beds at the secondary location in Clyde), allowing providers to deliver quality care close to patients' homes.

Job Details:
• Provide gastroenterology services to address current shortages across two hospital locations • See 10+ patient encounters per day • Position includes various coverage options: 24-hour call only, 24-hour call with clinic hours, or clinic coverage only • Perform upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, and injection of varices • Conduct ERCP procedures (both diagnostic and therapeutic) • Perform PEG procedures and esophageal dilatation/manometry with interpretation • Handle small bowel biopsies • Perform lower GI endoscopy including flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy • Conduct colonoscopies with biopsy and polyp excision capabilities • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is preferred but not required • Liver biopsy skills are preferred but not required • Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube skills preferred but not required • Must have current North Carolina medical license • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required • Board certification/eligibility required • Credentialing timeframe approximately 60-90 days • Coverage at both Harris Regional Hospital (Sylva) and Haywood Regional Medical Center (Clyde)
