This position is for a licensed Pediatric Hospitalist in New Jersey to provide inpatient care for children and adolescents in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include patient admissions, diagnostics, management of pediatric conditions, procedures, daily rounds, family communication, discharge planning, and participation in quality improvement. The role requires relevant licensure, board eligibility or certification, PALS certification, and experience with pediatric patients.
A New Jersey-based healthcare system in New Jersey is currently seeking a licensed Hospitalist, with a Pediatric background, to join their team at one of their facilities in Essex County.

- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: 7 on, 7 off (12 hour shifts)
- Patient Volume: 15to 20 per day
- EMR: Cerner
The Hospitalist will:
- Admit children and adolescents to the hospital when they require inpatient care
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, reviewing their medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests to make accurate diagnoses and create treatment plans
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric medical conditions, including infectious diseases, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, surgical conditions, and more
- Make daily rounds on hospitalized patients to assess their progress, update treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care
- Perform various procedures, including lumbar punctures, central line placements, and intubations, when necessary to manage and treat pediatric patients
- Communicate with patients' families to provide updates on their child's condition, explain treatment plans, and address any questions or concerns
- Work on discharge plans and ensurethat patients are stable and safe for discharge, and that appropriate follow-up care is arranged for continued recovery
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the hospital to enhance patient care and safety
- Perform other duties, as needed
- Licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey
- Board Eligible / Certified
- PALS certification
- Experience working with the Pediatric population
