The Pediatric Hospitalist Physician will provide inpatient care for newborns and hospitalized children, managing a variety of acute and chronic pediatric conditions. This role involves performing specialized procedures such as resuscitation, intubations, and lumbar punctures while working 12-hour shifts in a resource-rich hospital environment near Minneapolis and Madison. Duties include care for patients affected by prematurity, respiratory distress, infectious diseases, congenital heart disease, and/or other anomalies. Clinical responsibilities include resuscitation of newborns, care of healthy newborns, day-to-day management of babies in the special care nursery, and care of hospitalized children. Procedures performed include circumcisions, umbilical central lines, lumbar punctures, frenulectomies, intubations, and emergent needle decompression of pneumothorax. This position is solely inpatient. Hospitalists work 12-hour shifts in-house, 24 weeks per year.
