Facility in Peoria IL is seeking experienced surgical podiatrists (DPM) for a long-term, hospital-based locum tenens assignment. This is a procedure-heavy inpatient role focused on complex foot and ankle surgery, trauma, and amputations, with strong APP and resident support. Position Details Pay rate: $180/hr regular hours 24 hour call - $1500 per day and $200/hr Call-back. $1M/3M with tail is covered Travel/Lodging are covered by the client Specialty: Podiatry (Surgical DPM) Practice Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based Location: Peoria, IL Start Date: March 16, 2026 End Date: August 1, 2027 Coverage Type: Full-time or part-time locum tenens Number of Providers Needed: 4 Reason for Coverage: New position Trauma Designation: Level I Schedule and Coverage Monday Friday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Inpatient rounding included Weekend call: 1 weekend every 6 weeks No night call (overnights covered by APPs and residents) Estimated shifts per month: approximately 20 Practice Environment and Support Dedicated APP and resident support APPs and residents manage routine overnight call Established inpatient surgical teams with full OR access Physicians do not work solo Call response time expectation: 30 minutes Case Mix and Scope of Practice Foot and ankle trauma Minor and major amputations Diabetic foot complications Inpatient surgical consultations Full-spectrum foot and ankle surgery This role is not appropriate for providers with primarily outpatient or conservative practices. Clinical Responsibilities Inpatient surgical care and rounding Resident supervision Availability for after-hours clinical support when residents require attending-level input Documentation EMR: Epic Credentialing Estimated 60 days.
