Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg Orthopedic
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6 on 22-bed unit with average daily census of 6
• One day of unit-specific orientation provided
• Required certification: BLS
• Nebraska nursing license required for submission
• Driver's license required at submittal to verify 50-mile radius requirement
• Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score or face termination
• Care for orthopedic patients including total knee, hip, ankle, shoulder replacements and spine surgeries
• Administer pain medications, antibiotics, and blood products
• Work with telemetry monitoring - tele techs read and interpret strips
• Float to MedSurg, rehab, or PCU units taking MedSurg acuity patients
• Use EPIC charting system
• RTO must be requested upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract)
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
