American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position in a Level 1 Trauma setting, requiring strong CVICU and Epic skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the CVICU of a hospital with Level 1 Trauma capabilities
- Patient ratios are typically 1:2 in a 36-bed unit caring for high-acuity cardiovascular patients
- Night shifts are available (4x12 hour, 19:00-07:30)
- Care involves telemetry, drips, vents, A-Lines, sheaths, dialysis, and arterial blood gas draws
- Use of Epic EMR is required
- Traveler may be assigned to float between main, south, and north campuses within a 15-mile radius
- Traveler is the first to float and will support within specialty clusters
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Primary responsibilities include providing critical care to cardiovascular ICU patients including advanced monitoring and intervention
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no RTO will be added after offer and a maximum of 14 days may be requested
- Initial orientation includes up to 24 hours of required online modules
- Holiday coverage required for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract for census fluctuations
- Facility may terminate contract with two weeks' notice if necessary
- Active RN license in any state or a compact license, obtained before contract begins
- Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
- Proficient with A-Lines, ventilators, titrating drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- Candidates must not have past license action
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this position
