Hospitalist - Northern Louisiana Med Ctr - Ruston, LABeds : 160: 80-90 Acute Care Beds 12 SNF Beds 17 ICUBCIM/FM + ACLSEncounters: 45/day (15 per physician on average)Admissions: 7-9/day (3.5 per physician on average)Shifts: Three Doc shifts from 7a-7p, One Doc on night call from 7p-7aPhysicians need to be available for a minimum of 50% of their shifts for night call- This program is still being worked out on how the rotation will workGenerally 3-5 calls a night; this does fluctuate Stable patients admitted at night (7p-7a) can wait to be seen until the next morning. Sick or critical patients admitted after 7 should be seen; this is infrequent. Procedures: Occasionally, hospitalist will perform line placement or intubation, but other staff (ER, Anesthesia, resp) are here to assist.Vents: There is a pulmonologist, but hospitalists occasionally manage vent if he is out of town.
