The Mechanical Circulatory Support Coordinator manages clinical, procedural, and administrative care for cardiac and pulmonary failure patients requiring mechanical circulatory support. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize patient outcomes at a leading California teaching hospital. The role involves leadership responsibilities, patient and family education, and participation in hospital committees related to advanced cardiac care.
As the Mechanical Circulatory Support Coordinator you will be responsible for the following types of cases: Heartmate III, HeartWare, ECMO, TandemLife, We are DT certified and a transplant center We have both day and shift positions available! One of the Top Hospital in California Teaching hospital Research driven institution Secure retirement Named among best places to work The Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical, procedural, administrative and educational care of inpatients and outpatients with end stage cardiac and pulmonary failure patients requiring mechanical circulatory support under the supervision of the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Heart Failure faculty and MCS manager. This role will comply with all regulatory data needs for both patient populations (The Joint Commission, INTERMACS, STS, etc.). The incumbent will collaborate with medical and nursing management on the preoperative and postoperative examination and assessment, diagnosis and planning, treatment implementation, coordination and continuity of care, which also includes outcomes management, patient/family education, consultation, and research. The incumbent will assume a leadership role with the interdisciplinary team to define and achieve optimal programmatic outcomes. This position will also serve on hospital committees relevant to the care of the end stage cardiac and pulmonary failure patients requiring mechanical circulatory support.
