Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon to work locum shifts in Quincy Illinois (IL). Starting April 2026 , the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.
The Cardiothoracic Surgery role:
- Start Date or Estimated Start Date 4/6/2026
- Estimated Shifts/Month 2
- Coverage Need Details: 1-2 weekends of coverage needed each month, (Possible future coverage needs of 10-14 day stretch)
- Providers take call and any emergent cases that present, round on any patients we have, all call, no clinic, cover emergent cases only.
- Avg. 3 calls per weekend unless change in condition of a pt. CVU tries to get all questions asked when rounding to avoid phone calls.
- Daily Avg. Census: 7
- Schedule/Shift Times Weekends: Friday 10am to Monday 5am
- Candidates Typical Day Referrals from Cardiology
- Primarily managing CABG cases and/or performing CABG if needed
- EMR / Charting EPIC
- On Call? Yes
- Types of Calls Telephone; 30min Response
- Average Admissions While On Call 3
Requirements of the Cardiothoracic Surgery role:
- IL state license; active, unrestricted
- Will consider IMLC or Letter of Qualification
- 5 years of experience Required
- CSR Certification Required
- IL State DEA
- BLS and ALCS
- Must have a clean malpractice for emergency privileges
