A Neonatology Physician provides specialized medical care for newborn infants, particularly those who are premature or ill, in a Level III NICU and newborn nursery setting. Responsibilities include conducting rounds, managing admissions and discharges, and attending emergency C-sections during shifts. The position requires board certification, at least two years of clinical experience, and involves in-house and on-call shifts to ensure comprehensive neonatal care.

- Facility bed size: 133
- Level III NICU
- Expedited privileges are available for those with clean file.
- Shifts are 24hours (in house 8a-4p; call from hotel 4p-8a)
- 9-bed NICU, 20-bed newborn nursery
- 900 annual deliveries
- Average Daily Census: NICU 2-3; Newborns 5-8
- C-section rate: Approx. 30%
EMR: Charting: Meditech and PremiEHR
Shift Responsibilities and Procedures:
Rounds in NICU/newborns, admissions/discharges, and attendance emergency C-sections (when NNP is not present)
Daily Patient Load: approx. 5-7 total between NICU and Newborn nurse
Requirement:
Must be Board Certified - will not accept Board Eligible candidates.
Must have at least 2 years of clinical experience outside of residency.
