This position is for a Board Certified Critical Care/Trauma Physician at a Level 2 trauma facility in Joplin, MO, providing comprehensive critical care services. The role involves managing intensive care patients, performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates must hold active licenses and certifications in Missouri and have experience with procedures such as ventilation management, bronchoscopies, and catheter insertions.

Facility:
This is a Level 2 trauma facility with 48 beds in the department, offering comprehensive critical care services to the community. The hospital utilizes EPIC electronic medical records system and provides a collaborative environment with strong interdisciplinary support for critical care physicians.
Opportunity:
Board Certified - Internal Medicine - Critical Care Medicine
Job Details:
• Work approximately 12-14 shifts monthly (varies by month)
• Manage approximately 24 patient encounters per shift
• Must have active Missouri medical license
• Must have active Missouri BNDD & DEA
• Board certification in pulmonology and critical care required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Perform ventilation management (both invasive and non-invasive)
• Insert chest tubes as needed
• Conduct bronchoscopies with bronchial alveolar lavage (BAL)
• Evaluate and manage acute volume/BP issues
• Insert central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Manage ICP evaluation and treatment
• Place dialysis catheters
• Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures including lumbar punctures, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Maintain ACLS and BLS certifications
• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
• Candidates within driving distance or with direct flight access to JLN/SGF/XNA preferred
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
