We are seeking a qualified OB/GYN Physician for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in western North Carolina near Old Fort. This role is ideal for a skilled OB/GYN seeking flexible call coverage and the chance to work in a well-established, supportive environment. Position Overview: Start Date: December 20, 2024 Coverage Needed: Ongoing, supplemental coverage Setting: Inpatient, call-only responsibilities Shift Details: Average of 2-5 patients per shift Call type: beeper with a 30-minute response time Approximately 4-6 patient consults per shift and one admission Facility Resources: Bed capacity in the OB/GYN department: 11 Support staff includes 3 RNs and a team of 15 office staff members Key Responsibilities: OB Care: Focus on both routine and complex deliveries, with an annual average of 215 deliveries. Manage a range of obstetric cases, including low- and high-risk pregnancies, VBACs, and breech deliveries. Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds, including viability and targeted anatomical scans. Gynecologic Services: Conduct minor gynecological procedures, including IUD insertions and cryosurgery. Manage laparoscopic diagnostic procedures and operative gynecological surgeries such as ectopic pregnancies and cystectomies.
