American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in Illinois with advanced procedure proficiency and Epic charting experience required.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Cath Lab of a hospital environment
- Provides care for adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures
- Procedures include peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (arterial/venous), and venous thrombectomy
- Day shifts, 7:30AM to 5:00PM, four 9-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Responsible for administering and monitoring moderate sedation and managing patient care during invasive cardiac procedures
- Performs initial assessment, plans and implements individualized care, and adapts plans based on ongoing evaluation
- Functions as part of a collaborative team with RNs and Radiology Technologists
- Participates in quality improvement, safety advocacy, and evidence-based practice projects
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed per 13-week contract
- Candidates may not be on assignment at Carle Health for more than one year without a break of six months
- First time travelers are welcome to apply

- Current Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary licenses accepted)
- Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience in cath lab or similar setting
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, sedation administration, and advanced cardiovascular procedures
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Documented Epic charting experience required
