A Pediatric Hospitalist Physician will provide full-time inpatient newborn and pediatric care at a 473-bed community teaching hospital with Level II trauma center capabilities. Responsibilities include onsite coverage during 24-hour shifts, attending c-sections, managing phototherapy, and stabilizing newborns for transport, with additional opportunities for teaching medical students. A 473-bed community teaching and referral hospital serving Fairfield County and the surrounding region is adding a Pediatric Hospitalist. The medical center offers a comprehensive array of services, including advanced care in cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, surgery, and behavioral health, supported by its status as a Level II trauma center and affiliated teaching programs.

- Schedule:
- Six (6) weekday shifts and two (2) weekend shifts per four (4) week cycle
- There are thirteen (13) cycles per year
- Each shift is twenty-four (24) hours
- For weekday shifts, the physician must be on-site at the hospital between 5:00 PM - 10:00 AM of each twenty-four (24) hour shift and available via phone between 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- For weekend shifts, the physician must be on-site at the hospital for the entire twenty-four (24) hour shift
- Hospital coverage includes rounding on newborns, attending c-sections (both scheduled and emergent), managing phototherapy, occasional pedi consults to E.D. or floors, and stabilization of newborns for transport
