A leading healthcare system in Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide locum coverage for an established OB/GYN department. The site operates within a collaborative, patient-centered model and offers both inpatient and outpatient services. This opportunity is ideal for a midwife who enjoys variety, teamwork, and supporting women s health across the full spectrum of care.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Type: Ongoing, long-term locum coverage
- Schedule: 1 2 weeks per month
- Coverage: Combination of clinic and call
- Call Ratio: Approximately 1:4 or 1:5 (shared with group of CNMs)
- Response Time: 15 minutes
- Practice Setting: Mix of inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth
- Support Staff: Two supervising physicians and locum physicians onsite
- EMR: Cerner
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive midwifery care to obstetric and gynecologic patients.
- Manage prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and well-woman visits.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff for optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in call rotation for deliveries and emergency coverage.
- Utilize telehealth for select patient encounters as needed.
Requirements
- Active Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification.
- Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN or hospital-based midwifery experience preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
