Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Marion, Illinois (62959)
• Healthcare Setting: 36-bed Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic unit
• Contract Length: 20 weeks
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed except during holidays/unit closures)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Float: May float to Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for medical holds only
• Orientation: One-time 12-hour session
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,040

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (no pending or temporary licenses)
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• EPIC electronic charting experience required
• Confident, independent, and adaptable nurse
• Hard-working, resilient, and able to manage change well
• Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
• COVID-19 vaccine not required (subject to change)
• Must reside outside a 40-mile radius of Marion, IL

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a 36-bed Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic unit
• Maintain a patient ratio of 6:1
• Float to ED/ICU to care for medical holds as needed
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
• Adapt to changing unit needs and maintain a positive attitude
