American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with at least two years of current specialty experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a hospital setting
- Cares for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia
- 12-hour varied shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly
- Floating to other departments or local locations within a 20-mile radius required
- Uses Epic EMR, with on-site training available
- Assesses, plans, and provides direct post-anesthesia patient care in accordance with established protocols
- Coordinates care and communicates effectively with the healthcare team and patient families
- Supervises LPNs and assistive staff within the unit as needed
- No local candidates permitted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates with previous permanent employment at this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- First day orientation includes required competency testing
- Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs
- Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
- Minimum of two years recent PACU RN experience
- At least one prior 13-week travel assignment completed
- Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during first week of assignment; failure after one retake leads to dismissal
