The Gas & Chemical Technician will support site gas and chemical equipment operations on a front‑end day shift, performing cylinder and drum changes, troubleshooting equipment, and sustaining preventative maintenance and safety procedures. The role requires at least a high school diploma/GED, one year of maintenance or equipment technician experience, and the ability to pass respirator fit and drug testing; chemical/gas equipment experience or military mechanic training is a plus. Our client, a leader in the electronics and chemical distribution industry, is seeking a Gas & Chemical Technician to join their team. As a Gas & Chemical Technician, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the Front End Day Shift. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and quality, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Gas & Chemical Technician
Location: Tualatin, OR
Pay Range: $27.00, $29.00 once converted to full-time after one year
Shift: Front End Day Shift (7:00AM - 4:00PM), Monday through Friday for training)
What's the Job?
- Support the technical demands of site gas and chemical equipment, ensuring optimal operation and safety compliance.
- Perform cylinder and drum changes on all chemical and gas systems, troubleshooting complex issues to resolve equipment problems.
- Maintain adherence to operational, safety, and maintenance procedures to ensure flawless execution.
- Support over 500 pieces of distribution equipment from various vendors, ensuring their proper functioning.
- Participate in safety processes, quality management, preventative maintenance, and training initiatives to foster a zero-incident culture.
What's Needed?
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience as a maintenance or equipment technician.
- Experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment is preferred.
- Military mechanic training or Navy Nuclear Power School experience is a plus.
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test and comply with safety protocols, including drug testing.
