Novant Health is hiring a PRN Licensed Athletic Trainer to support the greater Charlotte region. This team member must be licensed in the appropriate state as an athletic trainer, acts under the supervision of a physician and must adhere to the protocols and guidelines as required by the licensing agency. The protocols must be written in collaboration with the supervising physician and reviewed annually. The Athletic Trainer works in the areas of primary care, sports medicine or orthopedic clinical setting, specializing in the delivery of high-quality health care for those engaged in physical activity. They also promote Novant Health and Practice through outreach and education for health and wellness in the community.
What We're Looking For:- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate from an accredited athletic training program, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
- Experience: 2 years, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current AT licensure in appropriate state with the ability to acquire additional state licenses as, required. Successfully pass NATA BOC exam, required.
- Additional Skills Required: Excellent Customer Service, Written and Oral Communication, basic computer application skills, and ability to multitask. Hold or ability to hold appropriate state licensure. Hold or ability to hold AHA BLS First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification.
- Additional Skills Preferred: Hold or ability to hold CSCS, PES, CES certification(s).
Primary responsibilities will be to provide on-site athletic training coverage at weekend sporting events, and to local area high schools. The athletic trainer evaluates, plans, directs, documents, and administers programs of athletic training and rehabilitation. Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the department and Novant Health facilities. Communicates with physicians, referral sources, and other clinical staff and coordinates athlete's schedule, treatment programs, discharge planning, and recommends solutions to athlete care problems.
