Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology (IR) position in an acute care setting, requiring a current CA RN license and proficiency with procedural sedation.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Interventional Radiology (IR) unit within an acute care hospital
- Typical cases include biopsies, drainages, angiography, angioplasty, embolizations, gastrostomy tubes, cryoablation, and catheter or line placements
- Day shift, 10-hour shifts with rotating call on evenings, nights, and weekends
- Work every other weekend and cover at least one major and one minor holiday during the contract
- Single suite/lab with average daily case volume that varies
- Floating to nearby campus (Mercy Southwest, approximately 6.5 miles away) may be required
- EMR systems used are Cerner, Radnet, and Merge Unity
- Assist interventional radiologists with minimally invasive procedures and patient positioning
- Travel to other imaging modalities such as CT and Ultrasound to assist physicians as needed
- Comprehensive orientation provided by Lead RN, lasting at least one week
- Navy surgical scrubs are provided by the hospital
- First to float policy applies to travelers
- Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year in any capacity except through an outside agency
- Holiday coverage and rotating call are required throughout the assignment
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN, with previous IR experience preferred
- Ability to pass Procedural Sedation competency and EKG exam
- Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes
- Must provide two professional references: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from the past 3 years
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
