Overview
The Structures Division of H&K Group, Inc. is currently seeking a NECEPT certified concrete field testing technician Grade 1, primarily responsible for testing concrete at various job locations to ensure quality standards and specification are met. The ideal candidate is safety conscious, self motivated and experienced. This position supports bridge and related structural heavy civil and highway construction projects throughout Northeast PA and the Lehigh Valley. Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies.Follow and assure compliance with quality control plansSample and test materials following standard practices and quality plansMaintain test records and assure compliance with company and agency specificationsMaintain a clean, organized work environmentRead and follow H&K Group employee handbook protocol and proceduresCalibrate and maintain test equipment to standardsEstablish and maintain lines of communication with concrete plant operations, agency representatives and quality control supervision

Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
- Strong work ethic and organizational skillsNECEPT and ACI certifiedAble to work in a team or independently as neededTime managementValid driver's licenseReliable transportationAbility to meet standards of PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission and other recognized authoritiesAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- High School diploma or equivalent (such as GED) from an accredited educational institutionPrevious experience working with concrete materialsNECEPT certificationBasic knowledge of heavy civil and highway construction
- Frequently required to:
- Use hands and arms to finger, handle, reach, and feel
- Talk and hear
- Stand, walk, and climb
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, or crawl
- Specific vision requirements include distance, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Noise level is usually moderate
