Position Overview
Type of Position: Travel
Description:
- Monday through Friday, between 7am and 6pm (8 hour shifts, start/end times can vary)
- No weekends, no call, no holidays
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders
- Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)
- Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained
- Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care
- Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
- Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure
- Enters, transmits and reports scan results
- Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
- Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- NYS License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- 2 years Experience
- CT certified and has PE/CT experience
