Tell us about the unit(s): · Number of Beds - 8 · Number of Staff – 12 · Type of staff: o Day Shift – 1 charge (charge nurse takes patients) and 2 nurses. No CNA’s, no monitor techs. o Night Shift -1 charge (charge nurse takes patients) and 2 nurse. No CNA’s, no monitor techs. · Patient Ratios – 2:1, at times 3:1 ( we do not have a PCU unit so we are often able to group 3 PCU pt’s together) · Type of equipment - GE monitors, Pyxis medication administration, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Puritan Bennett Vents · EMR – Meditech- assessments every 4 hours, notes every 2 hours, VS every 1 hour if not more often Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. · At least 2 years of critical care experience, ACLS, BLS · Willing to work OT · Outstanding communication skills and has a true understanding of the patient experience Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. · Wiliness to float to other units to help out (when the ICU census is low the staff in the ICU are floated to other departments, generally the Med-Surg dept) · PALS List typical procedures performed on unit(s): · Intubation · CVP monitoring, Arterial line monitoring · ETOH and opioid detox Smoke free campus
