The Lead Behavioral Health Therapist provides clinical counseling services using evidence-based modalities in an outpatient setting and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team for treatment planning. This role involves supervising therapy staff, establishing clinical standards, and supporting organizational policies to ensure effective service delivery. A master's degree and licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience are required.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides professional level skills required in the clinical practice of counseling, affording direct and indirect services to patients and working with a multidisciplinary team in evaluation and treatment planning for individuals, families and groups in the outpatient setting. Primary responsibility is to provide a broad spectrum of modalities of evidence-based counseling. Serves as a role model for other staff members who provide therapy by establishing standards, priorities, and goals for self and peers, ensuring that services are rendered in a prompt, efficient and effective manner. Actively supports the policies and procedures of University Health.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Master's degree in social work or professional counseling from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. Social work supervisor or licensed professional counselor supervisor, or pursuit of supervisor status, is highly recommended in order to clinically supervise potential trainees. Five years of current experience in mental health, and demonstrated level of clinical counseling skills indicative of ability to engage in self-regulated practice is required. Five years of experience in clinical counseling are preferred. Experience in educational program development, project management, and process improvement preferred. Ability to accurately identify high-level barriers to program success and provide recommendations to adapt programs to best meet the behavioral health needs of the community.
LICENSURE
Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the applicable Texas State Board is required.
