Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg assignment requiring current IN or compact state licensure, BCLS and NIHSS certifications, and at least 18 months of recent experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
- Patient caseloads are typically 1:5-6
- Night shift position with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, including every other weekend
- Required to float to other Med/Surg units and to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner charting experience preferred
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult Med/Surg patient population
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of requested time off can be auto-approved
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license in hand prior to start date
- Current BCLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA & RQI accepted and must be current)
- Minimum of 18 months to 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- COVID vaccine required for all travelers; medical and religious exemptions with documentation are accepted
- Indiana residents are not eligible for this position
- Local candidates are not accepted for Med/Surg roles
- Former permanent or PRN employees must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
