Job Description:
We are seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Family Medicine or Internal Med-Peds Hospitalist Nocturnist to join our hospitalist service. The ideal candidate will work approximately 10-12 shifts a month and maintain a strong focus on providing outstanding and compassionate care to all patients.
Highlights Include:
- Rounding on Adult and Pediatric patients, offering a great mix for individuals who want inpatient work and the ability to care for patients of all ages
- Flexible scheduling of shifts, 8 PM to 8 AM, with 12-hour shifts
- Inpatient clinical responsibilities including admissions, discharges, consults, and transfers
- ICU management, including rounding, running codes, vent management, and intubations
- Attend caesarean sections and round in the newborn nursery (NRP certification required)
- Ability to work independently with on-call specialists available by phone
- Nocturnists can expect to have 4-5 patient encounters per night with an average of 3-4 Emergency Department admissions
- Wide scope of services provided at the hospital, including General Surgery, OBGYN, Orthopedics, Primary Care, and Urology
- Ability to live in close proximity to Raleigh or Wilmington, North Carolina
