Unit: IMU (Intermediate Medical Unit) Number of Beds: 18 Patient Ratios: 1:3 Required Certifications: ACLS BLS Typical Patients / Common Diagnoses: Post-MI with sheath pull ADHS Postoperative vascular GI bleed DKA Typical step-down type patients Experience / Skills Required: RNs must be able to titrate drips Common Drips: Nitroglycerine: up to 150 mcg/kg/min Neo: up to 100 mcg/min Cardene: up to 10 mg/hr Charge Nurse / House Supervisor: Both available Normally, charge nurse does not take an assignment Support Staff: 1 PCT per shift Telemetry on all patients, RN reads strips RT available for BiPAP and CPAP Shifts & Scheduling: Self-scheduling not guaranteed Currently using paper spreadsheet Weekend: every other Holidays: every other Call / Standby: none Floating: PRN Scrub Color / Dress Code: Royal scrubs Unit Orientation: Department-specific Notes: Information obtained via email Entered by Lyndsay Belden, 8/23/24
