Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Denison, Iowa.

May float as needed. Ortho pt's common on unit. Nights no call start asap Cerner Experience preferred but may train right candidate. CAH experience highly preferred. Required Certs: BLS, ACLS-AHA, PALS-AHA only Orientation: Usually two shifts preceptor on unit Weekend: Requirements: Every Other Weekend Ratios: 1:5, rarely-1:6. 3 nurses scheduled Number of beds: 21 average census 8-10 2yrs experience in specialty required-Must be able to set up and use Bi-Pap Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Cardizem, insulin, heparin Tele Monitors: Mindray monitors and must be able to read own strips Floating Requirement: OB nurses will float to MedSurg/Tele but MedSurg/Tele RN's will not Self Scheduling, Will do block schedules if unit allows at time, Schedules are made about 2wks in advance, 6wks at a time. Common DX: Respiratory issues, pneumonia, wound care, post-op ortho, hip, knee, occasional Gun or urology, FSV, Bronchiolitis, Pediatrics-1-2x/week (experience in peds not required) They only do Cardizem Drips and not very often. The RN's manage them as needed. Critical Access Medical Surgical unit that cares for a broad spectrum of patients, for example: patients on telemetry, cardiac drips, post-surgical, respiratory conditions, Pediatrics, Skilled services to name a few. We would prefer the nurse to be able to recognize a basic cardiac rhythm strip. Bipap isn’t as critical as we have RT and the paramedics and EMT’s can assist with that.
