This position is for a board-certified or board-eligible Cardiologist with expertise in cardiac critical care to join a specialized Cardiac ICU team in Hartford, CT. The role involves managing complex cardiovascular cases including pre- and post-operative care, heart transplants, ventricular assist devices, and advanced mechanical circulatory support. The facility boasts a high volume of cardiac surgeries and excellent post-transplant survival rates, supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Position Highlights:
- Care for patients with complex cardiovascular disease which can include pre- and postoperative care, heart transplant and/or a Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), and acute mechanical circulatory support (ECMO and intra-aortic balloon pumps) and cardiogenic shock
- Successful candidate will be able to place chest tubes and perform bronchoscopy
- The critical care unit is staffed with highly trained advanced practitioners and fellows
- The Cardiac Surgery service performs approximately 1500 surgeries per year and has one of the highest post-transplant survival rates in the nation
