American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year acute care experience for an inpatient acute care hospital position, requiring an active state license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Primary setting is a short-term acute care hospital
- Role involves providing therapy services to medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology patient care areas
- Position is primarily inpatient with floating within different therapy service lines as needed
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with some flexibility in start time up to 8:00 AM
- Weekend coverage required once every 4 weeks (both Saturday and Sunday), with a day off in that week
- No on-call required
- EMR used is Epic; charting experience in Epic required for certain units
- Dress code is black or grey scrubs
- Parking passes are available for purchase; details provided during orientation
- Main responsibilities include patient assessment, documentation, patient and family education, and safety/injury prevention
- Patient care covers a wide variety of medical, surgical, orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and oncology cases
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Return-to-work policy requires permanent employees to wait 1 year before returning as travelers
- Applicants must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- No more than 7 days requested time off allowed within a 13-week contract; no time off permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may stay for up to 18 months and must take a 3-month break after that period, or 12 months for allied/non-clinical travelers with a 6-month break required
- Active state PT license required if applicable; pending license accepted for IL
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care physical therapy experience required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations
- EPIC EMR documentation experience required for certain units
