Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleMinimum of 2 twelve-hour shifts per week for the first month. Orientation will occur on Monday and Tuesday.
Job DescriptionThe Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to provide high-quality compassionate care to patients and their families. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, identifying care priorities, and providing direct patient care.
Responsibilities- Conducts triage and assesses patient needs.
- Identifies urgent and emergent care priorities.
- Implements appropriate interventions and evaluates patient progress.
- Builds rapport with patients and families while providing updates on care.
- Documents assessments and suspected cases of domestic violence or abuse.
- Prepares patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Provides education for continued care and healing post-visit.
- Maintains awareness of patient needs throughout their stay.
- Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one year in an Emergency Department setting.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (must be AHA or RQI).
- Active New York State RN Licensure.
