Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg unit night shift position, requiring at least one year of recent acute care experience and a current IN or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 32-bed Med/Surg (remote telemetry) unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes stable vent patients, Bipap, acute or chronic renal failure, dialysis, fluid overload, and medical/surgical cases
- Patients may receive telemetry if ordered, monitored 24/7
- Administer IV drips such as dopamine (fixed rate, no titration) and heparin
- Primary care teams include internal medicine, family practice, and hospitalist overflow
- Night shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week
- No on-call responsibilities
- Utilizes Cerner for electronic medical records
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the hospital; candidates within 50-100 miles accepted at a reduced rate
- Responsible for managing patients on remote telemetry, IV drips, and supporting a diverse range of medical/surgical diagnoses
- Travel experience not required for consideration
- No orientation hours are provided for this assignment
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in a hospital setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
