American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a TN or compact RN license and travel nursing experience.
Responsibilities- Work on a Medical Surgical unit within a large hospital
- Level I Trauma Center with adult patient population
- Utilizes a team nursing model with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6-7
- Night shift position with a 4x12 hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:00
- Floating may occur to similar units or campuses within a 20-mile radius, but is rare
- Weekend shifts and on-call duties required as needed
- Use of Cerner EMR is preferred
- Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Expected to work holidays if Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's falls within the assignment—must be willing to work 2 of 3 if all occur, or 1 of 2 if only two holidays occur
- All requested time off (RTO) must be declared at the time of application; RTO requested after offer will not be considered
- Team nursing structure provides collaborative support among staff
- Compliance with strict facility standards and documentation required
- Must provide vaccination status as part of the application process
- Block scheduling generally not available, but weekend block may be discussed during interview
- Active TN or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience required, 3+ years preferred
- Prior travel nursing assignment required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Level I Trauma hospital RN experience required
- Experience in large hospital settings required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Must comply with all Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
- No local candidates accepted; candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility
- Returning travelers or former staff must have a separation of at least one year to be eligible
