RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 19-bed mixed unit CVICU/CVRU with 1:2 or 1:1 patient ratios depending on acuity
• Hold over downgraded patients may be 1:3 ratio
• Arrive to unit ready for work no earlier than 7 minutes prior to shift start at 6:45 AM
• Work every other weekend
• Overtime must be approved by CNCs
• Float to all ICUs, stepdown units, and other units as needed
• 2 years CVICU or CVRU experience required
• Must have BLS/ACLS certifications
• Critical Care training required
• Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care preferred
• Dress code requires navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, hair off shoulder, no fake nails
• Perform typical procedures including IABP, IMPELLA, hemodynamics, frequent patient ambulation
• Remove chest tubes and pacer wires
• Provide LVADS care with team support
• Assist with intubation/extubation procedures
• Work with GE monitors and Cerner EMR system
• Must have high energy, upbeat personality with love for surgical heart care
• Safety requirement: have second nurse guide you for unfamiliar procedures

This healthcare facility operates a high-acuity cardiovascular intensive care unit located on the 3rd floor of the Heart Tower. The facility provides comprehensive heart surgery services to approximately 850 patients per year and maintains a highly trained team of CVICU/CVRU charge nurses and an educator for orientation support. The unit features advanced cardiac care capabilities including ECMO team services and specializes in critical care devices such as Impellas, IABP, and LVADS, creating a friendly environment focused on delivering exceptional cardiac care.
