Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry unit position in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license and competency in rhythm strip interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Telemetry unit
- Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 6:45 to 19:15
- Care for adult patients with a 1:6 ratio
- Responsibilities include chronic ventilator management and EKG monitoring
- Competency in rhythm strip interpretation is required
- Prefer experience with cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem
- Must work every other weekend
- Floating to other units required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Assess and respond to acute changes in patient status
- Initiate and maintain cardiac drips when needed
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed
- Vaccination exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of acceptance
- Pre-start learning modules required prior to orientation
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry RN experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must pass EKG strip test at orientation
- Experience in rhythm strip interpretation required
- Competency with ventilator management preferred
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
- Pending licenses are not accepted
