This role is for an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner providing primary emergency room call coverage in a small rural hospital with a 25-bed trauma center. The position involves working extended shifts, collaborating with physicians and support staff, and providing comprehensive emergency care including surgical assistance. Candidates must have over three years of emergency medicine experience and be comfortable with a 24/7 coverage model in a critical access facility.
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: On going looking for locums, locums-to-perm and perm
• Shift Details: Average of hr on site shifts per month
• Primary ER call coverage about 10 days/month, with 9 patients per day on call days.
• Call schedule: primary ER call 3 5 days at a time; MDs provide secondary call coverage, with a CRNA available for anesthesia needs.
• Schedule: 24/7/365 coverage model for the ED, shared among PAs/APPs.
• Support staff: Providers on call - not always on site - crit access and OB essential for position - OB nurse charge, shift charge nurses, LPNs - lab on-site
• Department description: Emergency Department at a small/rural hospital; 24/7/365 ER coverage for community.
• EMR: Meditech expanse
• Hospital bed size: 25 beds, L IV trauma
• Special procedures: surgical experience (assisting in cesarean sections or other procedures) is a plus
• Emergency medicine experience required. 3 years + minimum experience
• Licensing considered? Open to licensing
• Credentialing Timeframe: 3 months or less
