Job Details:
• Work night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating every other weekend schedule
• Must be able to rotate across all radiology departments
• Perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients under general supervision
• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations
• Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations
• Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock including linen and related supplies
• Analyze anatomical structure of patients, set up equipment, and perform CT scans
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information
• Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors and monitor patients for reactions
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies for procedures
• Assist radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies
• Demonstrate principles of radiation protection including patient shielding and ALARA techniques
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS system
• Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• BLS certification required
• Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education
• Self-starter with good communication skills required
• May occasionally lift and move equipment or patients exceeding 10 lbs
