Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: April 13, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – 5N Med/Surg Medical Stroke Unit
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights, including weekends
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Charting System: EPIC

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (open to candidates awaiting licensure)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Stroke patient care experience and NIHSS certification highly preferred
• Travel nursing and EPIC charting experience preferred
• Valid, unexpired driver’s license required upon submission

Med/Surg Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to patients with stroke, COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, and post-surgical needs
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC
• Administer medications and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Manage a patient load of 1:5-6, supported by 3 Patient Care Technicians
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
• Care for up to 35 beds, with an average daily census of 26-28
