Family Medicine opening in Pocahontas, IAPosition Details:
- Seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to join our team in Pocahontas, IA
- Established team of clinicians serving the Pocahontas and Laurens communities
- Opportunity to practice full-spectrum family medicine in a newly remodeled and well-known clinic and hospital
- Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access; 36 patient contact hours
- Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive team members allowing for autonomy while building the practice according to your preferences
- Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination Responsibilities:
- Clinic is open Monday Friday, 8 AM 5 PM
- Average of 20 patients per day
- Practice is a mix of outpatient and inpatient medicine
- No nights or weekends; inpatient care is provided by Emergency Medicine Physician at night and on weekends
- Call is telephonic-only and triaged through MyNurse Hotline; minimal call volume; call shared evenly among providers
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- Full-spectrum family medicine procedures such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, Nexplanon, wound care, etc.
- Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physicians field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
