Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families, ensuring compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely according to hospital policy.
- Participate in effective resource utilization, staffing, and time management.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education.
- Integrate nursing research and evidence into practice.
- Provide support and guidance for new employees and students.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- ACLS Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years current experience working in an Emergency Department.
- Knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
