Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night Telemetry position on a cardiac unit with required MI licensure and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Primarily serves cardiac patients including heart failure, heart attacks (STEMI/NSTEMI), strokes, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain
• Patients are on cardiac monitors, with some requiring cardiac drips; unit may also accept overflow medical patients
• Staff-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, and may be up to 1:7 during call-ins
• Night shift schedule consisting of 4x12 hour shifts (1900-0730)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
• No call requirements
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for documentation
• Care for cardiac telemetry patients with a range of acute conditions and apply advanced monitoring techniques
• Be flexible with patient ratios during periods of high patient census or call-ins, with support from newly onboarded travelers
• Team is actively hiring Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to support nursing staff
• Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue
• Holiday coverage is required for major holidays, with specific expectations to work 2 out of 3 holidays
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but management will attempt to accommodate requests

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Telemetry nursing experience
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
