Med/Surg RN Job Details- Location: Spooner, Wisconsin 54801
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
- Healthcare Setting: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg), Acute Care, Inpatient Services
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts, rotating every 3rd weekend (may cover additional weekends)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Charting System: EPIC
- Department Size: 18 beds
- Orientation: 12 hours (4 hours on the floor, 8 hours with education RN)
- Scrub Color: Any professional color
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and positive attitude
- Ability to read telemetry and monitor strips
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from Spooner, WI (per facility policy)
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses (pneumonia, CHF, COPD, cellulitis, post-surgical cases)
- Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (occasionally 1:5 or 1:6)
- Titrate IV drips (Heparin, Cardizem); initiate levophed or dopamine prior to transfer as needed
- Collaborate with CNAs and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Float to the Emergency Department to assist as needed (not expected to take full assignment)
- Operate respiratory therapy equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen devices)
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC charting system
- Participate in department orientation and ongoing nursing education
