The ICU at Lovelace Regional Hospital provides high-acuity care to adult patients, including post-cardiac procedures, ventilated patients, and those requiring complex cardiovascular or multi-system support. Nurses function in a 1:2 ICU ratio and a 1:6 Med-Surg ratio when floated. Rotating weekend coverage is required. First-time travel nurses are accepted.
RequirementsLicensure:
Active NM RN License or Compact License – Required (Must be in hand at submission)

Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Post cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR) – Preferred
Pre/Post cardiac catheterization
Pulmonary artery line (Swan-Ganz) monitoring – Preferred
Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
Emergency medication administration
CVA / Acute Stroke management
GI surgery patient care
Infection prevention / PPE
Isolation precautions
Phlebotomy
Wound management / surgical wounds with drains / wound vac
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure
IV insulin protocols
