Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MD or compact RN license, with BLS and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with patients boarding from the Emergency Department
- Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30
- Patient ratios are 1:5 on weekdays and 1:4 on weekends
- Covers a variety of patient diagnoses excluding critical care cases
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating may be required within the specialty
- No on-call responsibilities
- Required to wear navy blue scrubs
- Provide telemetry and medical-surgical care to a broad range of patient cases
- Work with patients who are temporarily housed in the ED border area for the hospital
- Must be able to adapt quickly to a dynamic patient population
- Holiday assignments are based on departmental scheduling
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- CPI certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years recent relevant experience
- First-time travelers with strong experience will be considered
