American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position, requiring a MO or compact RN license and expertise in telemetry and stepdown care.
Responsibilities- Work in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5 on PCU
- Float to all medical-surgical and telemetry units, including ED for inpatient holds
- Care for patients with cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, respiratory, and renal conditions
- Perform advanced cardiac monitoring, post-cardiac procedure care, feeding tube management, wound care, and more
- Night shifts (3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15)
- Weekend requirement of 8 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Holiday and Charge RN shifts as assigned
- No block scheduling available
- Duties include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, hemodialysis management, respiratory support, and wound care
- Care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, neuro, ortho, endocrine, renal, and surgical cases
- May be assigned holiday or charge RN duties based on unit needs
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed
- Pre-start compliance modules required prior to assignment
- Strong team-oriented environment supporting complex patient care
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No travel partners accepted for this position
- Drug screening must be clear for start eligibility; candidates with failed screens may not reapply for 6 months
- Active MO or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
- At least 2 years of recent specialty experience with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
- One year of recent in-specialty experience within the past 12 months
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience in PCU, telemetry, stepdown, cardiac monitoring, and related clinical skills
- Must provide 2 professional references, one from a supervisor level or above within the past year
- Must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Pending licenses not accepted
