An Emergency Medicine Physician is needed for 12-hour shift coverage at a Level IV Trauma Center, providing critical emergency care including advanced procedures and trauma leadership. The role requires board certification or strong emergency medicine experience, active medical licensure, and proficiency in resuscitation and procedural skills. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnostics, treatment planning, trauma coordination, and compliance with EMTALA and hospital policies.
Our Partner, is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine physician for recurring 12-hour shift coverage within a critical access, Level IV Trauma Center. This assignment includes a mix of day and night shifts, with the potential for additional dates in January and February if current providers take a leave of absence.
New providers are required to arrive the day prior to their first scheduled shift for onboarding and system access. Emergency privileges may be available for candidates holding an active North Dakota medical license.

All orientation hours are billable
HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency providing prepaid travel, lodging, and malpractice
Board Certified EM preferred; FM with strong EM experience considered
Active, unrestricted North Dakota medical license
Current ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and DEA
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience
Strong procedural capability including:
Intubation & advanced airways
Chest tubes
Central lines
Procedural sedation
Trauma leadership
Adult & pediatric resuscitation
Experience in rural/critical access facilities preferred
Provide single-coverage emergency care in a Level IV Trauma Center seeing 11,000 annual visits
Perform advanced procedures including airway management, central lines, chest tubes, sedation, and resuscitation
Lead adult and pediatric resuscitations
Conduct assessments, evaluate diagnostics, and create treatment plans
Order, interpret, and act on lab, imaging, and EKG results
Direct trauma activations and coordinate interdisciplinary care
Determine disposition: discharge, admission, or transfer
Ensure EMTALA-compliant stabilization and documentation
Complete accurate, timely documentation in EPIC
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, bylaws, and regulatory standards
