The Compliance Manager at Gallagher Benefit Services oversees client health and welfare compliance efforts by interpreting regulations, developing educational materials, and coordinating with internal and external partners. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to ensure adherence to laws such as ERISA, HIPAA, and FMLA. The position also involves acting as a HIPAA Privacy Officer, managing compliance tools, and providing training to staff and clients to maintain a culture of integrity and regulatory compliance.
Overview
The Compliance Manager plays a key role in guiding and supporting our client's health and welfare compliance efforts. In this position, you’ll be a trusted resource for navigating regulatory requirements, offering insight, training, and education to help our team feel confident and informed. You’ll also partner closely with clients to strengthen their understanding of compliance expectations and ensure they feel supported every step of the way.
Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll work with internal and external partners—including AssuredPartners, compliance teams, vendors, and industry associations—to help maintain strong alignment with all applicable laws and regulations. Your expertise will help create a culture of clarity, integrity, and shared responsibility.

How you'll make an impact
- Develops educational materials for staff and clients, including Compliance articles, Alerts, and presentations. Works with Managers to educate staff on compliance requirements. Works directly with clients to enhance compliance through meetings, presentations and consultation.
- Develops branded educational materials in conjunction with communication team.
- Interprets and summarizes guidance and alerts from credible information sources related to employee benefits and human resources. Identifies and communicates key points to staff and clients. Responds to requests for information.
- Coordinates efforts with compliance personnel and with outside legal counsel.
- Monitors the use and effectiveness of compliance tools, including those related to legal research, Wrap and POP documents, Form 5500 filings, non-discrimination testing, etc.
- Familiarity with and ability to answer client questions pertaining to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, FMLA, etc.
- Ensures that mandatory compliance initiatives are completed properly and timely.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations in the EB Compliance space.
- Monitors compliance-related vendor relationships. Validates costs associated with vendors.
- Reviews and updates Business Associate Agreements with clients and/or Account Executives.
- Acts as HIPAA Privacy Officer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel is expected to be 10% in this role.
About You
Required: Bachelor's degree and 7 years related experience required.
Preferred: HR Certification (PHR, SPHR) and ACA certification preferred. Tech savvy; ability to navigate multiple systems including Agency Management Software; Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products

The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
